Why Mersal single attracted Vijay fans?

The single Aalaporaan Tamizhan from Vijay starrer Mersal composed by Composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman was out yesterday. Supposedly a Vijay's introduction song, it has lyrics penned by Vivek.


The song is about pride of Tamilians and Tamil culture. Aalaporaan Tamizhan is rendered by Deepak, Kailash Kher, Sathyaprakash and Pooja.

AR Rahman has used percussion as the base for the song which gains momentum as it progresses. The entire album would be out on 20 August at a grand function in Chennai in which Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are expected to take part.

Produced by Sri Thenandal Films, plans are on to release the movie this Deepavali. Vijay plays triple roles in the movie and the Mersal team reveals that one of them is that of a magician. Vijay indeed learnt magic and the tricks he will be seen performing in the film will be done by the actor himself.

Mersal, directed by Atlee, features Nithya Menen, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal as the female leads with SJ Suryah as the baddie. Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Motta Rajendran, Yogi Babu and Sathyan among others are also in cast.
