Top music composer Yuvanshankar Raja tied the knot to girlfriend Shilpa at 10.20 am on Thursday, at a simple ceremony on the holy Tirumala hills. The wedding was attended by members from both the families, including Yuvan’s father maestro Ilayaraja.
'The wedding took place exactly at 10.20 am and it was performed as per Hindu tradition. Music maestro Ilayaraja was so happy to see his younger son in the attire of a bridegroom,' says a source.
Yuvan, who was married to Sujaya Rao was divorced a year back and since then his family was looking out for the right girl from a good family. Shilpa is a qualified doctor by profession.
Yuvan’s father Ilayaraja, mother Jeeva, elder brother Karthik Raja, his wife Rajee and children, Yuvan’s sister Bhavatharini, his uncle Gangai Amaran, his sons Venkat Prabhu and Premgi Amaran were those in the family who had turned up for the marriage.
The list of close friends include producer Sathyajothi Thiyagarajan, director Vishnuvardhan with wife Anu, actors Mirchi Siva and Panchu Subbu. A reception has been organised later today (Friday) at a star hotel in Chennai.
